I found my first set of
wine glass charms about two years ago. They were a set of 4
pewter shoes and I thought they were just the neatest things.
I showed them to everyone I knew |
|
and explained what they were.
Shortly thereafter, I ran across some little gemstone carved
animals at a rock and gem show. I thought that they would make
a great and different wine glass charm. First, because they
were not pewter like all of the other ones I had seen and
secondly, because I am crazy about rocks and gems.
I found all of the components I needed and made a few sets of
my own, then showed them to family and friends, from whom I received positive feedback.
After that, I just kept making them. I wasn't quite
certain what to do with all the wine glass charms.... I just
loved making them and continued to do so.
Next I found little
glass leaves and made more charms with them. Now I had all the
gifts I was going to need for the next couple of years or
so.....
I heard about a Wine and Blues Festival that was going on in
Dunedin, FL and I entered the show. By then I was really
hooked. Everyone seemed to love the charms I was making, but
most importantly... they were buying them. That first show
also made me realize that I needed to sell the charms
individually (as well as in sets), so I broke up all of my
sets within the first 10 minutes of the show. Now people could
create and personalize their own sets.
Now I look at literally everything... and wonder.... if I put
a hole in it, would it work as a charm? (Some things don't,
like the acorn I tried.) People are always asking me where I
find my charms. Since that is a big part of what makes mine
unique, I don't reveal where I get them. Believe me, it is
a constant and time consuming search!
To me, the most important thing of all though... is that you
will enjoy these wine glass charms, as much as I have enjoyed
making them! I would like to Thank You for visiting my website
and invite you to stop by and visit us at the Craft Shows and
Festivals we attend!
Best regards,
